I am excited about the prospect of utilising my BSc Natural Sciences (Honours), achieved while away from work as a stay at home mother, by returning to work in the science sector.
During my most recent administrative role working for the NHS, I was the County-wide team administrator and the main point of contact to the general public demanding highly effective communication with internal and external customers. I was required to be highly flexible and proactive in prioritising and dealing with requests from a number of stakeholders including line managers, GPs and other professionals as well as the general public.
A significant proportion of my workload was to collect, maintain and archive sensitive data following processes set out by the organisation into the SystmOne NHS database needing high attention to detail and a methodical approach to the task. Due to my excellent understanding of database use, proactive nature and approachability I was also tasked with coordinating the Single Point of Access project. Specifically, this involved preparing, organising and distributing material, producing workflows and communicating this to other team members, and feeding back progress.
I am highly numerate, organised and efficient, enthusiastic about getting things right and making a difference to people and the team around me. I am highly driven and motivated when working independently or under supervision as demonstrated by the recent completion of my degree course. Throughout my career, I have quickly been identified as a positive, reliable and hard-working team player and I would be delighted to be considered to join the Wellcome Sanger Institute team on the genome sequencing projects.
