CNC 5-Axis Machinist / Setter Operator - Mazak VARIAXIS J500 & J600 Location: Gloucester Salary: £48,000 per annum Shift: Permanent Full Time Overtime Available Immediate Start Available The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC 5-Axis Machinist / Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer in Gloucester.

Working with Mazak VARIAXIS J500 and J600 5-axis machining centres, you will be responsible for setting, operating and optimising machining processes to produce high-precision components to exacting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate Mazak VARIAXIS J500 and J600 machining centres
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Perform tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments
• Produce components to tight tolerances and quality standards
• Conduct first-off and in-process inspections
• Ensure machines are running efficiently and minimise downtime
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment
• Work collaboratively with production, quality and engineering teams

Requirements

• Proven experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres
• Experience with Mazak machinery and Mazatrol controls preferred
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge of precision machining techniques and tooling
• Experience working to tight tolerances
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
