About this role

Our engineering and manufacturing client is looking for a Graduate Production Planner to help coordinate the people, materials and information that keep production moving.

This is an opportunity to build an understanding of how a factory operates, working closely with production, purchasing, stores and engineering colleagues. You will see how plans become finished products and how your decisions help the business meet customer commitments.

The role

As you develop your knowledge of the operation, you will become involved in:

  • Preparing work orders and the documentation needed for manufacturing.

  • Supporting production schedules and monitoring progress through the factory.

  • Working with purchasing and stores to help ensure materials are available.

  • Liaising with production teams to identify delays and agree priorities.

  • Keeping planning systems and production information accurate.

  • Identifying practical ways to improve workflow and coordination.

About you

We are open to graduates from engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, business or related disciplines who are interested in how things are made and organised.

You may enjoy working with information, solving problems and bringing structure to competing priorities. Confidence with Excel, attention to detail and a willingness to speak with colleagues across the factory would all be useful.

Previous production planning experience or knowledge of a particular manufacturing system is not essential. We are interested in your approach, curiosity and potential to develop.
