The Opportunity

Fancy a role where your environmental expertise can make a genuine difference?

An established specialist environmental planning consultancy is looking for a Senior Consultant to join its growing team, working across Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), ecology or landscape.

You'll take the lead on complex environmental assessments, work closely with local authorities and statutory consultees, and help shape planning policy that balances development with environmental protection. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues, contribute to business development and play a key role in delivering projects that support both growth and nature recovery.

Whether your specialism is HRA, EIA, LVIA or ecology, this is a fantastic opportunity to combine technical expertise with meaningful environmental impact.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience in environmental consultancy or local authority planning.
  • Hands-on experience delivering or coordinating HRA, EIA or LVIA for local plans or planning applications.
  • A sound understanding of UK planning legislation and environmental assessment regulations.
  • Excellent report-writing skills and the ability to produce robust, technically accurate assessments.
  • Relevant chartership, such as MRTPI, MCIEEM, CMLI, CEnv or MIEMA, or working towards it.
  • Experience mentoring colleagues and managing projects would be advantageous.
  • GIS skills, including QGIS or ArcGIS, are a bonus.

If you're looking for your next step in environmental planning and want to work on projects that genuinely matter, I'd love to hear from you!
