Are you ready to lead from the front?
At Shorterm Group, we don't just recruit people. We build long-term partnerships with some of the UK's most recognised engineering and aviation businesses.
Our Whiteley office is home to our specialist Aviation Division, supporting clients across the aerospace, aviation, MRO and engineering markets. With an established client portfolio, a strong contractor base and significant opportunities for further growth, we're looking for an ambitious
Recruitment Team Leader to help take the division to the next level.
This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to manage from the sidelines.
We're looking for a commercially minded leader who enjoys winning business, developing people and seeing the results of their team translate directly into growth.
The Opportunity
As Recruitment Team Leader, you'll play a key role in the continued growth of our Aviation Division.
You'll lead, coach and develop a team of recruitment professionals while remaining hands-on with business development and key client relationships.
You'll have the opportunity to shape the team's direction, introduce new ideas, develop future recruiters and play a significant role in growing an already successful specialist division.
You'll be expected to lead from the front - winning new business, opening doors with new clients, developing existing accounts and helping your team become better recruiters and better salespeople.
What you'll be doing
Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing recruitment team.
Set clear commercial, activity and performance expectations.
Drive new business development across the aviation and aerospace market.
Identify opportunities to grow revenue and profitability within existing accounts.
Build and develop relationships with senior client stakeholders.
Support your team with business development, candidate management and complex recruitment challenges.
Coach consultants through regular 1-to-1s, development plans and performance reviews.
Help recruit, train and onboard new members of the team.
Take ownership of key client accounts and strategic opportunities.
Monitor team performance, revenue, gross profit and activity levels.
Work closely with Operations, HR, Payroll, Finance and Credit Control to ensure excellent service and operational delivery.
Ensure the team operates within company procedures, employment legislation and GDPR requirements.
Identify new opportunities, markets and ways of working that can help the division grow.
About the Aviation Division
Aviation is one of Shorterm's core specialist markets, and our Whiteley team has built strong relationships across the sector.
We're involved in a broad range of aviation and aerospace recruitment, from MRO and aircraft maintenance through to engineering, technical, manufacturing and specialist aviation roles.
You'll be joining a division with an established platform to build from, rather than starting from scratch.
There is a genuine opportunity here to grow the team, grow the client base and grow your own career alongside it.
About You
You might already be an experienced Recruitment Team Leader.
Alternatively, you could be an ambitious Senior Recruiter, Principal Consultant or Sales Team Leader who is ready to take the next step into leadership.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is commercially driven, competitive and passionate about developing people.
Recruitment experience would be beneficial, but it isn't essential. If you've successfully managed a sales team, understand how to win and retain clients and have a strong commercial mindset, we'd like to hear from you.
Essential experience
Minimum 2 years' experience managing and developing a successful sales or recruitment team.
Proven business development and client relationship experience.
Demonstrable track record of delivering revenue and profit targets.
Experience coaching and developing individuals to improve performance.
Strong commercial awareness and a genuine desire to win new business.
We'd love you to be
A natural leader who brings energy and accountability to a team.
Confident picking up the phone and opening new business conversations.
Commercially minded and motivated by achieving results.
An excellent communicator and relationship builder.
Comfortable having challenging performance conversations when required.
Organised, resilient and able to manage multiple priorities.
Someone who wants to build something, rather than simply manage what's already there.
What you'll get in return
We believe great people should have the opportunity to build a great career.
You'll receive:
£41,000 basic salary
£4,800 annual car allowance
Uncapped commission and bonus potential
Buy & sell holiday scheme
Your birthday off
Electric car scheme
Clear career progression
Ongoing training and professional development
Support from an established specialist recruitment business
The opportunity to shape and grow your own team
The opportunity to work within one of Shorterm's established specialist markets
A genuinely entrepreneurial environment where your ideas and results can make a difference
We're looking for someone who wants to take ownership, build relationships, win business and develop people.
If you're ambitious, commercially driven and ready to step into a leadership role where you can make a genuine impact, we'd like to hear from you.
