Mechanical Estimator - Building Services

Our client is a well-established Building Services contractor delivering mechanical and electrical solutions across a diverse range of commercial, healthcare, education and residential projects. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their team.

The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for mechanical building services projects. Working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams, you will play a key role in securing new business and supporting the company's continued success.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical building services projects.
• Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Carry out take-offs and prepare bills of quantities.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and project teams throughout the tender process.
• Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market rates and industry trends.
• Support handover meetings with operational teams following successful tender awards.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the Building Services sector.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, public health and mechanical building services installations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tender submissions simultaneously.
• Industry related qualification
