HGV Mechanic - Automotive - Tamworth, Staffordshire - Up to £22.00 per hour DOE + Overtime

Detail2 Recruitment is working with an established construction haulage and plant business in the Tamworth area. They are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to keep their fleet of vehicles and trailers safe, compliant and on the road.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you'll be responsible for repairs and roadworthiness across the fleet, working to high health and safety standards.
 
HGV Mechanic - The details

• Up to £22.00 per hour depending on experience 
• Start between 9am and 10am, finish between 6pm and 8pm
• Saturday working maybe required 
• Overtime available

HGV Mechanic - Requirements

• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or Technician on vehicles and trailers
• Good knowledge of health and safety standards
• Valid driving licence

HGV Mechanic -  Responsibilities

• Keeping vehicles mechanically sound and legally roadworthy
• Completing repairs to vehicles and trailers in good time
• Carrying out services, including oil and filter changes
• Advising on VOR (vehicle off road) issues
• Keeping documentation up to date, both manual and electronic
• Attending remote vehicle breakdowns
• Repairing and replacing tyres as needed
• Preparing vehicles for MOT
• Reporting any road safety issues to the Transport Manager
• Other duties within your capabilities as required
