Primary Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Primary Teaching Assistant for a long-term opportunity at a primary school in the Leatherhead area.

The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering effective lessons, encourage pupil participation and help create a nurturing learning environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Your Responsibilities

• Support classroom teaching and assist pupils with daily learning tasks.
• Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce key concepts.
• Encourage children's participation, independence and social development.
• Help maintain an organised, stimulating and inclusive classroom.
• Assist with phonics, reading, writing and basic mathematics activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and build supportive relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with teaching staff to identify and address learning needs.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has previous experience supporting children in a primary school, nursery or similar setting.
• Demonstrates a genuine interest in children's education and development.
• Is confident assisting with classroom activities across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Has excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Is flexible, enthusiastic and willing to take initiative.
• Holds an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one.
