KS1 Class Teacher

Do you have a passion for primary education and enjoy inspiring children during their early years of formal learning?

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Key Stage 1 Class Teacher to join a primary school in Leatherhead on a long-term supply basis, starting as soon as possible.

We are looking for a creative and confident educator who can deliver high-quality teaching, encourage independence and create a classroom where every pupil feels supported and motivated to succeed.

The Role

• Deliver imaginative and well-structured lessons to Year 1 or Year 2 pupils.
• Develop children's confidence in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics.
• Maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment.
• Monitor pupil attainment and provide targeted support where necessary.
• Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork and independent learning.
• Build strong working relationships with parents, colleagues and support staff.

Requirements

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1 in a UK primary school.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the National Curriculum.
• Be confident using assessment to inform teaching and learning.
• Have strong organisational skills and a proactive teaching approach.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
