Production Welder

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Welder to work with our client, an established engineering and manufacturing company based in St Helens.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Production Welder with experience in MIG welding and heavy steel fabrication to join a busy engineering workshop.

This is a permanent position.

Rates of pay are £15.78 per hour (first 38 hours) and £19.73 per hour (after 38 hours).

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out MIG/MAG welding on mild steel and heavy steel components.

• Working on the production and assembly of fabricated steel components and plant equipment.

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding specifications.

• Producing high-quality welds to the required standards and tolerances.

• Preparing materials and components prior to welding.

• Inspecting completed welds to ensure quality and consistency.

• Working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.

• Maintaining high standards of health and safety within the workshop.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Production Welder within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

• Proven experience in MIG/MAG welding.

• Experience working with heavy steel fabrications would be advantageous.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
