Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on removals HGV Class 2 Driver in the Belfast BT28 area for a professional removals company. You will be transporting household or commercial goods safely and carefully. You’ll drive to collection and delivery locations across Belfast, support loading and unloading, and help ensure customers’ belongings arrive in good condition.

This is a hands-on, customer facing roles covering local moves across Northern Ireland and regular trips to Great Britain overnight by Ferry.

• Pay is circa £17- £17.75 an hour
• £80 a day supplement for overseas trips
• Bonus Payments starts from £200 per quarter plus £10 per 5-star review paid at the end of each 13 week quarter.
• Saturday rate of £120 for half day.
• Good career progression to Team leader and beyond

Responsibilities

• Drive an HGV Class 2 18T and 7.5t vehicles on planned local routes, following road safety rules and company procedures.
• You will also be doing planned overnight runs to Great Britain.
• Secure loads appropriately, including flatbed loads where required, and check that goods are protected for transit.
• Assist with loading, unloading and positioning items at collection and delivery sites using correct lifting technique and furniture wrapping methods.
• Complete vehicle checks and report defects, delays or delivery issues promptly.
• Provide courteous, practical support to customers and colleagues throughout each move.

Qualifications

• A valid HGV Class 2 driving licence and CPC Card and the ability to carry out commercial driving safely.
• Ideally have a clean licence but certainly no DUI's.
• Heavy Lifting is involved and will be required from you as part of the removals team for each job.
• Experience in heavy lifting techniques and furniture wrapping methods would be desirable however full training would be given if not.
• Physically fit and able to lift 30-40kg repeatedly throughout the day.
• Strong driving skills, with a careful and responsible approach to vehicle and load security.
• Delivery driver experience is useful; removals or flatbed experience is also welcome.
• Good communication, reliability, and a willingness to undertake physical work as part of a team.

Experience:

• Class 2 Driving: 2 years (required)
• Removals / Heavy Lifting: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Class 2 Driving Licence (required)
