Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a secondary school setting?

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a range of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Lambeth seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students both in and out of the classroom.

We are particularly interested in hearing from Teaching Assistants who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD, and those who may present challenging behaviour.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on young people's education while developing your skills within supportive and well-resourced schools.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with their learning and development.
  • Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Provide tailored support for students with SEN, EHC Plans, SEMH needs, and additional learning requirements.
  • Help promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
  • Support teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents where appropriate.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

About You

We welcome applications from candidates who:

  • Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Care Worker, or within a similar support role.
  • Have experience supporting students with SEN and/or managing challenging behaviour.
  • Can build positive and professional relationships with young people.
  • Are resilient, patient, and confident working in a secondary school environment.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are committed to supporting pupils to reach their full potential.

Relevant qualifications or training are welcomed but are not essential. We value experience, transferable skills, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.

What We Offer

  • Opportunities to work in a variety of well-regarded secondary schools across Lambeth.
  • Competitive rates of pay.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Dedicated support from an experienced education consultant.
  • The opportunity to gain experience across a diverse range of school settings and student needs.
  • Potential pathways into teacher training and further education careers for those interested.

Flexible Working

We understand the importance of work-life balance and welcome conversations about flexible working arrangements. Opportunities may include full-time, part-time, long-term, and temporary assignments depending on individual school requirements and operational needs.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Tradewind Recruitment is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals and will consider requests for reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.
