About this role

BMS Project Engineer

Location:  Motherwell and Surrounding Areas
Salary: £55,000–£65,000 + benefits
Coverage: Scotland – primarily the Central Belt, with opportunities across the wider region

The Opportunity

My client are recruiting for an experienced BMS Project Engineer to join an established BMS business looking to grow out its project division in Scotland.

Traditionally focused on service, the business is now investing in its project capabilities, with a growing pipeline of opportunities across BMS retrofits, mechanical services and potentially new-build education projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can take ownership of projects from initial planning through to final delivery, combining strong technical knowledge with project coordination, commercial awareness and customer management.

You’ll play an important role in developing the Scottish project function, with the potential to progress into a dedicated Project Manager position as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of BMS projects from initial planning through to completion and handover.

  • Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout project delivery.

  • Coordinate project activities, engineering resources, equipment orders and installation schedules.

  • Review and approve technical drawings, including mechanical designs where required.

  • Manage project variations, ensuring changes are accurately recorded and commercially controlled.

About You

We're looking for someone who can operate independently and bring proven project delivery experience to the business.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A strong understanding of BMS engineering, project coordination and site delivery, running BMS Projects from start to finish.

  • Experience managing customer relationships and coordinating multiple stakeholders.

  • The ability to review technical drawings and manage project variations.

  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership of projects and make decisions independently.

Experience with Siemens or Delta Controls would be advantageous, although candidates with experience across Trend, Tridium/Niagara or other BMS platforms will also be considered..

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • £55,000–£65,000 salary, depending on experience.

  • Opportunity to join a growing project division with genuine scope for progression.

  • Potential to develop into a dedicated Project Manager role.

  • The chance to help shape and grow the Scottish project team.

  • A varied role covering projects across Scotland, with a strong focus on the Central Belt.
