About this role
HR Business Partner - HR Systems & Projects
Location: Droitwich Spa
Salary: £35,500 FTE (£17,974.68 pro rata)
Hours: 20 hours per week | Part-time, permanent
Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for HR systems, technology and continuous improvement?
We're recruiting an HR Business Partner - HR Systems & Projects for an established, award-winning multi-site retail business. This is an excellent opportunity to combine hands-on HR systems development with generalist HR business partnering and project delivery, within a people-focused organisation that values collaboration, wellbeing and professional development.
Working closely with the Head of HR and People, you'll play a key role in improving HR systems, streamlining processes and providing trusted advice to managers and senior leaders across the business.
The Role
This is a varied position for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of HR systems while understanding the wider people and commercial needs of a business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of the development, configuration, maintenance and optimisation of the HRIS, ideally iTrent or a similar platform.
- Supporting system upgrades, testing, implementation and troubleshooting.
- Identifying opportunities to automate processes and improve the employee and manager experience.
- Maintaining accurate HR data and developing meaningful HR reports and management information.
- Supporting integrations between HR, payroll and other people systems.
- Providing expert HR advice and guidance across the employee lifecycle.
- Managing complex employee relations cases and supporting managers with effective decision-making.
- Leading HR projects covering organisational change, policy development and process improvement.
- Supporting workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
- Working with the external payroll provider to support accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Coaching and training managers on HR policies, processes and systems.
About You
You'll be an experienced HR professional who combines strong generalist HR knowledge with a genuine interest in how HR systems work and how they can be improved.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager or in a similar senior HR advisory role.
- Strong hands-on experience of iTrent or a comparable HRIS, including system configuration and development rather than simply end-user experience.
- Experience of system upgrades, testing, implementation and troubleshooting.
- A good understanding of HR data, reporting and data integrity.
- Experience delivering HR systems or process improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
Experience in a multi-site environment, advanced Excel and reporting skills, and CIPD Level 7 would also be advantageous.
Above all, you'll be proactive, analytical and solutions-focused, with the confidence to challenge existing processes and find better ways of working.
What's on Offer?
- A permanent, part-time position offering 20 hours per week.
- Salary of £35,500 FTE, equivalent to £17,974.68 pro rata.
- Flexibility to agree working days and hours.
- Private medical insurance.
- Company pension scheme.
- Generous staff discount.
- Free parking.
- Professional development opportunities and support for CIPD progression.
- The opportunity to make a tangible difference to HR systems and people processes within an award-winning retail business.
Location: Wychbold, Worcestershire, with a reasonable commuting distance required.
