About this role

Compliance Administrator

Permanent

Shrewsbury
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
£27,500 – £31,000

We are working with an established and successful business in Shrewsbury to recruit a Compliance Administrator to join its friendly and supportive team. This is a varied administrative role providing essential support to the Health & Safety function and the wider business. You will play an important part in ensuring documentation, training records, purchasing information and compliance records are accurately maintained, while also helping with the day-to-day running of a busy office.

The position would suit someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent organisational skills and enjoys being a reliable point of support for colleagues across different departments. Previous Health & Safety or compliance admin experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential. The company is happy to provide training, making this an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic administrator looking to develop their skills in a specialist area.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Compliance Administration: Maintaining accurate Health & Safety documentation, registers and records, as well as preparing meeting minutes, reports and correspondence.
  • Training Coordination: Arranging training courses, managing bookings and attendance records, maintaining the company training matrix and coordinating online training and workplace assessments.
  • Audit Support: Organising documentation and supporting evidence for internal and external audits, maintaining audit records and following up outstanding actions.
  • Purchasing & PPE: Processing authorised purchase orders, coordinating PPE orders and distribution, maintaining purchasing records and responding to routine supplier enquiries.
  • Health & Safety Support: Assisting with workplace assessments, maintaining associated records and providing general administrative support to the Health & Safety team.
  • Environmental Administration: Maintaining waste management and environmental records and supporting sustainability and energy-saving initiatives.
  • General Office Support: Answering telephone enquiries, welcoming visitors, receiving deliveries and helping with the everyday requirements of a busy office.
  • Wider Business Support: Working collaboratively with colleagues across departments, responding to changing priorities and helping ensure administrative processes run smoothly.

Key requirements

We are looking for a professional, approachable and proactive individual who enjoys taking ownership of their responsibilities and supporting others.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an administrative, office support or business administration role.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence maintaining accurate records, registers and administrative systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently when required.
  • A practical, problem-solving approach and the confidence to use your initiative.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and a genuine desire to help colleagues.

The application process:

Our mission is to support our clients in their creation of an equal, diverse and inclusive workforce. We are committed to providing a barrier-free recruitment process, so if you require any reasonable accessibility adjustments within the application process, then please make it known at the earliest opportunity.

We will carefully consider your details and advise you if we're able to progress with your application within 72 working hours. If you do not hear from us within this time your details won’t be retained. So, if you're not successful on this occasion, do continue to respond to future roles we advertise. In the meantime, all good wishes and continued success with your search for employment.
