Connect2H&F are supporting the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham in the appointment of a highly experienced Class 3 Registered Building Inspector to provide technical leadership, supervision and expert plan checking support within a busy London Building Control service.

This is not a trainee, graduate or progression opportunity.

We are specifically seeking an individual who is already operating at a senior technical level and can provide immediate value through sound judgement, technical expertise and the ability to support and guide others within the profession.

The Opportunity

Following the departure of a senior technical specialist, we are seeking an experienced professional capable of taking ownership of complex technical matters, supporting Building Control colleagues and helping maintain the highest professional standards across the service.

The role is predominantly focused on:

• Complex plan checking and technical assessment
• Technical supervision and support of Registered Building Inspectors
• Higher-Risk Buildings
• Building Safety Regulator compliance and Gateway processes
• Complex Building Regulations interpretation
• Quality assurance and technical governance
• Supporting decision-making on technically challenging projects

This is primarily a technical review and oversight role, not a site inspection-heavy position.

What We're Looking For

We are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate:

• Current Class 3 Registered Building Inspector status
• Extensive Building Control experience at a senior level
• A proven track record of dealing with complex and technically demanding projects
• Significant experience of plan checking and regulatory interpretation
• Experience supporting, mentoring or supervising Building Control professionals
• Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations and associated guidance
• Higher-Risk Building experience
• Local Authority Building Control experience

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is recognised as a trusted technical expert within the profession and who can provide confidence and leadership from day one.

Working Arrangements

• Predominantly remote working
• Occasional attendance in London, typically around once per month
• Travel expenses reimbursed for agreed attendance
• Flexible engagement arrangements
• Immediate start available
