Technical Project Coordinator, LED & Video Events
About this role
Neo Recruitment is working with a Scottish live events technology business that delivers LED, video and graphics playout for major occasions across Scotland, England and Europe. They are looking for a Technical Project Coordinator who is as comfortable planning at a desk as they are troubleshooting on site.
The role
You will take an enquiry or a client handover and turn it into a clear plan, a clear job sheet and clear expectations for the freelancers delivering it. Then you will make sure it happens, mostly from the office and warehouse, and on site for the larger projects. It is a hands-on role with real ownership, and the standards you set will shape how every event is run.
Around 70% of your time will be based at the office and warehouse, and around 30% on project work, typically 2 to 5 day jobs. That includes travel across Scotland and England, and to Europe when a job requires it.
What you will be doing
- Building enquiries from a general concept through to project planning and delivery
- Turning client handover information, such as playlists, media assets and emails, into clear job sheets
- Creating production documents for each event, using lessons from past jobs
- Testing playout projects and distributing them to the teams who will run them
- Crewing events and managing freelancers on the ground
- Leading installation and commissioning across Scotland, England and, where necessary, Europe
- Tracking crew, subcontractor and technical purchasing costs, and supporting asset management in the warehouse
Who we would like to meet
- A technical background across hardware and software
- Good events industry experience, on site and in production operations
- Substantial LED and video experience, which is strongly preferred
- Experience of directing freelancers or subcontractors
- Practical troubleshooting skills and the ability to stay steady when events get busy
- Willingness to travel across Scotland and England, and to Europe when required
- vMix or live graphics experience would be a valuable bonus
- Based in or within commuting distance of the Glasgow area
If your background is in a neighbouring area of live events or AV and you have the hands-on skills, we would still like to hear from you.
What is on offer
- A permanent, full time role with genuine ownership from first enquiry to delivery
- Variety across the office, warehouse and live event sites
- The chance to shape freelancer standards and the way events are planned and documented
