We are looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged pupils across schools in Colchester. This role offers variety and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in different educational settings while working towards finding a long-term position that is right for you.

Your role may include:

• Supporting pupils 1:1 with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
• Working with small intervention groups to support learning and development
• Assisting pupils within the mainstream classroom to access learning successfully
• Supporting children within alternative provisions
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide the best outcomes for pupils

We're Looking For:

• Individuals available full-time, Monday to Friday
• Experience supporting children, either through:
  • Previous school-based work
  • Nursery or childcare settings
  • Youth work
  • Sports coaching
  • Care work
  • Volunteering
  • Mentoring or tutoring
  • Other relevant child-focused experience
• A patient, resilient, and positive approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Requirements:

✔ Experience working with or supporting children in some capacity
✔ Full-time availability
✔ Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
✔ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
✔ Right to work in the UK
