About this role

Are you an enthusiastic Primary Teacher who brings energy, creativity and a positive attitude to every classroom?

Can you adapt your teaching style to engage different learners and settle quickly into new school environments?

Would you like flexible, regular supply work that helps you build relationships with local schools and discover your next long-term opportunity?

TeacherActive is looking for dedicated Primary Teachers to support a range of welcoming schools across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, with further opportunities throughout the East Midlands.

We work with a number of lovely, supportive schools offering great facilities and opportunities to gain experience across different primary settings. Whether you enjoy the variety of supply or want to find a school where you can settle longer term, we would love to hear from you.

Regular supply is a great way to get your face known, demonstrate your teaching skills and build relationships. For the right teacher, these opportunities could develop into a long-term placement.

Role responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons in line with the primary curriculum.

  • Follow school planning and prepare learning activities where required.

  • Adapt lessons to support different abilities, including SEND and EAL.

  • Maintain a positive classroom through effective behaviour management.

  • Assess pupils’ understanding and provide clear feedback.

  • Work closely with teaching assistants and school staff.

  • Follow each school’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

The successful Primary Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting.

  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • A flexible, reliable and proactive approach.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting pupil well-being.

  • An Enhanced DBS, registered onto the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Benefits of working with TeacherActive:

  • Competitive rates of pay, paid weekly through PAYE.

  • Flexible opportunities to suit your availability.

  • Regular supply across a range of local primary schools.

  • Opportunities for supply work to develop into long-term placements.

  • Support from a dedicated consultant.

  • Access to professional development through My-Progression.

  • A refer-a-friend bonus scheme, subject to terms and conditions.
