About this role
Are you a nearly chartered Building Surveyor looking to complete your APC, or a recently MRICS-qualified Building Surveyor ready to develop your project experience?
Conrad Consulting is working with a property consultancy seeking a motivated Building Surveyor to join its team, working on Section 20 projects across housing and local authority portfolios.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their career within a supportive environment, with access to a varied project portfolio, structured mentoring and the opportunity to complete their final APC assessment.
The RoleYou will be involved in delivering a range of building surveying projects, with a particular focus on Section 20 works across residential housing and local authority properties. Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of Section 20 works, including major repairs, refurbishment and planned maintenance projects.
- Assisting with building condition surveys, inspections and the preparation of technical reports.
- Contributing to specifications, schedules of work, tender documentation and contract administration.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, residents and other project stakeholders.
- Monitoring project progress, quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Developing your understanding of relevant legislation, procurement processes and building surveying best practice.
For candidates working towards chartership, the consultancy can offer a strong platform to achieve MRICS status, including:
- A relevant project portfolio to support your final APC assessment.
- A structured mentoring framework to guide you through the remaining stages of your APC.
- Exposure to live housing and local authority projects, helping you build practical experience and technical competence.
- Ongoing professional development and the opportunity to progress within an established building surveying team.
Recently chartered Building Surveyors will also benefit from the opportunity to broaden their project experience and continue developing their career.
About YouWe are keen to hear from candidates who have:
- A degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- Experience within a building surveying consultancy or similar property environment.
- Progress towards MRICS chartership, or recently achieved MRICS status.
- An interest in project-focused building surveying, particularly residential, housing or public sector work.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach and a genuine desire to develop professionally.
