Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
About this role
Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (4 on 4 off - Days/Nights)
Ammanford, Wales
Up to £46,000 per year (DOE)
Yolk Recruitment is proud to be supporting a leading manufacturing organisation in the Ammanford area with the recruitment of a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer.
Part of a successful international group, this is a well-established food manufacturing business supplying high-quality products to major retailers and food service customers. With continued investment across its people, equipment and manufacturing processes, this is a great opportunity to join a busy engineering team where you'll have genuine variety in your day-to-day work and the chance to develop your skills across both electrical and mechanical engineering.
Position Overview:
As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer working a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern, you'll play a key role in keeping a fast-paced manufacturing operation running efficiently.
This is a hands-on position covering electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding, breakdown response and planned maintenance across a wide range of production equipment. You'll work closely with the wider engineering and production teams to minimise downtime, improve reliability and ensure equipment performs at its best.
If you're an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a stable role with a successful manufacturer, a competitive salary and plenty of technical variety, this could be an excellent next move.
This is what you'll be doing.
- Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production and manufacturing equipment
- Diagnosing and repairing both electrical and mechanical faults, getting equipment back into production safely and efficiently
- Responding to breakdowns and working to minimise production downtime
- Identifying recurring faults and helping to improve equipment reliability and performance
- Supporting continuous improvement projects and engineering improvements across the site
- Working closely with production colleagues and the wider engineering team to ensure smooth day-to-day operation
- Ensuring all maintenance activity is completed safely and in line with site, health and safety and food manufacturing standards
The experience you'll bring to the team.
- Previous experience working within a maintenance engineering role in a manufacturing, production or similar industrial environment
- A strong combination of electrical and mechanical maintenance skills, with the confidence to fault find across both disciplines
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability, particularly when working on breakdowns in a fast-paced environment
- A recognised engineering qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent with a minimum of Level 3.
- A proactive approach to maintenance, with an interest in improving equipment reliability rather than simply responding to breakdowns
- The ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a wider engineering and production team
- Willingness to work a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern
And this is what you'll get in return.
- Competitive salary of up to £46,000 per year, depending on experience
- A 4 on 4 off shift pattern offering extended periods away from work between shifts
- The opportunity to work across a varied range of production and manufacturing equipment
- Ongoing training, development and opportunities to progress your engineering career
- The stability of joining an established manufacturer operating as part of a wider international group
- A supportive engineering environment where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on site performance
- Employee benefits package
- On-site parking
