Junior IT Support Analyst
About this role
Junior IT Support Analyst
Location: Kings Hill, with remote support for a second office
Salary: Dependent on experience
Are you excited by technology and keen to start or develop your career in IT?
Do you have outstanding customer service skills and genuinely enjoy helping people?
Would you love a varied in-house support role where you can learn, build confidence and grow your technical skills?
If you’re looking to turn that interest into a career in IT, this could be your next step.
Our client, an established business in the financial services sector, is looking for a Junior IT Support Analyst to join its friendly in-house IT team. They’re keen to find someone they can train and develop, so your attitude, customer service skills and willingness to learn matter more than extensive technical experience.
You might be working in customer service and looking to move into IT, or already have some support experience and want to build your skills. Either way, you’ll enjoy helping people and take pride in getting things sorted.
The role
You’ll support colleagues across the business, becoming a friendly, approachable first point of contact when they need help with IT.
This is a varied in-house role where you’ll get to know the people you support and the systems they use. One day you could be setting up a new starter, the next helping a colleague resolve a technical problem or working with an external supplier to find a solution.
With guidance from the IT Operations Manager and supported training, you’ll build your confidence and technical knowledge through practical experience.
What you’ll be doing
-
Responding to colleagues’ IT questions and support requests with patience and a helpful approach.
-
Asking questions, listening carefully and working through problems logically.
-
Helping resolve everyday IT issues and escalating more complex problems when needed.
-
Setting up new users on internal systems.
-
Supporting colleagues in the Kings Hill office and remotely at a second location.
-
Working with external suppliers to resolve issues.
-
Keeping colleagues updated so they know their request is being looked after.
-
Helping with a variety of day-to-day IT tasks as you learn.
What we’re looking for
Above all, we’re looking for someone who is excited by technology and outstanding at helping people.
You’ll bring:
-
Excellent customer service skills, whether gained in retail, hospitality, an office or another people-focused role.
-
A friendly, approachable manner and a genuine willingness to help.
-
An interest in how technology works and enthusiasm for learning more.
-
Patience when supporting people with different levels of technical confidence.
-
Clear communication and the ability to explain things simply.
-
A practical, logical approach to solving problems.
-
Good attention to detail and the ability to organise your workload.
-
A positive team attitude and the confidence to ask for help when you need it.
-
Basic familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
You don’t need years of IT experience. This role would suit someone starting their IT career or building on a little existing experience. The business is looking for potential and enthusiasm, with training and development to help you grow.
Benefits
-
Private healthcare with no excess.
-
Employer pension contributions of 4%.
-
25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
-
Death-in-service benefit.
-
Supported training and ongoing professional development.
-
Free parking.
-
One day working from home where possible.
