Fire Engineer

An established and growing fire engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Fire Engineer to join their Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Fire Engineer to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.

The successful Fire Engineer will deliver technical fire engineering solutions, supporting projects from initial design through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing fire strategies for new-build and existing developments.

• Undertaking fire engineering assessments and technical reviews.

• Providing fire safety advice throughout the design and construction stages.

• Carrying out evacuation modelling and smoke control assessments where required.

• Liaising with architects, developers and building control professionals.

• Ensuring compliance with relevant UK fire safety legislation and guidance.

The Fire Engineer

The successful Fire Engineer will have:

• Degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• Experience working within a fire engineering consultancy.

• Strong knowledge of BS 9999, BS 7974 and Approved Document B.

• Experience producing detailed fire strategies and technical reports.

• Understanding of fire dynamics, means of escape and smoke control.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
