About this role

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to join an ambitious and growing main contractor delivering complex, high-value construction projects within the data centre sector.

This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality across technically challenging projects that form part of the UK's expanding digital infrastructure.

Working closely with project leadership, site teams, subcontractors and clients, you will drive a proactive HSEQ culture, ensure compliance with industry standards and legislation, and support the successful delivery of projects where safety, quality and programme performance are paramount.

The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on HSEQ professional who can influence at all levels, challenge conventional approaches and embed best practice across live construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Leadership

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSEQ policies, procedures and management systems across data centre construction projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk reviews, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company standards.
  • Advise project and site management teams on risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work and construction-phase planning.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture, ensuring hazards are identified, reported and effectively managed.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Monitor high-risk construction activities, including lifting operations, work at height, temporary works, excavation and complex MEP installation

    Data Centre Project Delivery

  • Provide specialist HSEQ support across complex data centre construction projects and critical infrastructure environments.
  • Work closely with construction, engineering and MEP teams to manage the risks associated with complex building services and critical power and cooling infrastructure.
  • Support safe coordination of multiple subcontractors, concurrent work activities and complex construction programmes.
  • Ensure HSEQ arrangements reflect the technical, operational and security requirements of data centre environments, including works adjacent to live or operational facilities where applicable.
