Salary: £30,000-£36,000 DOE
Contract: Permanent | Full-time or Part-time

An established ecological consultancy is looking for an experienced Consultant Ecologist to join its friendly and growing team. The company delivers ecological surveys, planning advice and biodiversity solutions across the South East, supporting clients in achieving positive conservation outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Ecologist to work on a varied portfolio of projects while developing technical expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The role:

• Undertake protected species, botanical and habitat surveys.
• Complete Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs).
• Deliver Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, habitat mapping and enhancement strategies.
• Prepare technical reports and support protected species licence applications.
• Manage projects and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance to junior ecologists where required.

Requirements:

• Minimum of two years' ecological consultancy experience.
• Degree in ecology or a related environmental subject.
• Experience with UKHab, BNG assessments and technical report writing.
• One or more protected species survey licences, with progress towards further licences.
• Experience using QGIS or ArcGIS.
• CIEEM membership.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Living in or within a commutable distance of the Kent office.
