JOB DESCRIPTION
The ASB & Legal team is at the forefront of creating safer neighbourhoods. From investigating complex anti-social behaviour cases to progressing legal action and tackling tenancy fraud. This is a role where your expertise, judgement and determination can make a genuine difference to people's lives.
We are looking for a resilient Anti-Social Behaviour & Tenancy Officer to join our team in Oldham. This is a full time, permanent role, offering hybrid working with three office based days per week.
About the role
As an ASB & Tenancy Officer no two days are the same. You will manage a varied caseload involving anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches, fraud investigations and legal action. You will be working directly with residents, colleagues and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
You will ensure that investigations are managed professionally, proportionately and in line with legislation and organisational policies. You will assess evidence and make balanced, defensible decisions and progress legal remedies where appropriate, including preparing cases and supporting court action. You will need to maintain accurate case records and provide clear written reports and witness statements. You will contribute to service improvements and share best practice across the team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their expertise in ASB investigation, tenancy enforcement and legal casework within a supportive and experienced team.
What we are looking for:
- Excellent customer service, supported by strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong investigative skills, with a sound understanding of case management principles and practices.
- Highly self-motivated, with the ability to plan, organise and manage workloads effectively with minimal supervision.
- Experience of working within environments subject to legislative, regulatory and organisational change.
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills.
- Resilient and able to manage challenging situations professionally, delivering sustainable and proportionate outcomes.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to different audiences.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Essential qualifications
- Educated to Level 2 (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent) or higher.
