This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous SEN experience who is committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop independence and achieve their individual goals.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other members of the school team to provide personalised support for pupils with a range of additional needs. You will play an important role in creating a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment where children feel supported, valued and encouraged to succeed.
If you are patient, resilient and passionate about making a positive difference to children's lives, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Assisting teachers with classroom activities and adapting learning tasks to meet individual needs.
Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Encouraging children to develop their communication, social interaction, confidence and independence.
Helping pupils manage their emotions and behaviour through positive, consistent and supportive strategies.
Building trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and engaged in their learning.
Monitoring pupil progress and sharing relevant observations with teachers to help inform future support.
Working collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to provide consistent, tailored support.
Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, inclusive classroom environment.
Following safeguarding procedures and supporting pupils' overall wellbeing and personal development.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is essential.
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.
Experience supporting children with different learning needs, communication difficulties or behavioural challenges.
A patient, caring and resilient approach, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
The ability to adapt your approach to suit individual needs and learning styles.
A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous, as would experience working within a specialist SEND setting or delivering targeted learning interventions.
Why Apply?
Competitive daily rate of £105.

The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils' education and personal development.
The chance to gain further experience supporting children with a range of additional needs.
