Field Service Engineer- Peterborough/Cambridge

Elevation Recruitment Group's Engineering Services Division are delighted to support a market leading global equipment and machinery manufacturing company with the expansion of its Field Service Engineering Team.

The Field Service Engineer is a mobile regional role covering Peterborough and Cambridgeshire areas, and although in the main your customers will be local, you may need to stay away from time to time. You will be given a van, specialist tools, phone, laptop, and fuel card.

The Field Service Engineer is a customer-facing role, and although training will be given, a strong technical knowledge of plant equipment repair would be an advantage, as well as having field based engineering services experience with a great communication style and commitment to delivering excellent service!

Responsibilities for the Field Service Engineer include:

• Attending customer sites to conduct and complete scheduled services or repair work on plant equipment
• Carrying out machine commissions, demonstrations and operator familiarisation as required
• Testing to ensure accurate fault diagnostics
• Communicating with the office coordination team to ensure effective planning and delivery of the service schedule
• To represent the Company in a professional manner, especially when on a Customer site, building and maintaining positive relationships with the customer base

Skills & Experience required for the Field Service Engineer include:

• Good knowledge and experience of the repair and servicing of plant equipment, preferably large mobile plant on customer sites 
• NVQ 3 in Mechanical Engineering / Plant Maintenance/Land Based Technology
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostics and analytical skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings, parts, hydraulics and electrical diagrams
• Full UK driving licence and the ability to work at sites locally as well as staying away occasionally
• Must be keen to develop and learn new skills and gain new knowledge and have a positive attitude
