Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Psychology Graduate to join a specialist ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) school supporting children and young people aged 7 to 19 years old.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build practical, hands-on experience within special educational needs (SEN), child psychology, or educational support. Key Responsibilities

  • 1inction & Small Group Work: Support students on a 1-to-1 basis or in small intervention groups focusing on emotional regulation, social communication, and academic progress.

  • Applying Psychological Insights: Utilise your psychology background to understand student behaviour, implement positive behaviour support (PBS) strategies, and assist in creating structured, low-arousal learning environments.

  • Progress Tracking: Observe, record, and report on student progress and developmental milestones to help shape future support plans.

  • Mentoring & Wellbeing: Act as a positive role model, championing student mental health, building trust, and supporting emotional wellbeing across both school sites.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: A recent graduate holding a degree in Psychology (or a closely related discipline).

  • Experience: Previous experience or a strong desire to work with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), SEN, or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.

  • Skills: Excellent communication, resilience, empathy, and a proactive, patient approach.

  • Travel: Ability to work across both sites in the Rossendale area seamlessly.

  • Compliance: Must hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced Child Workforce DBS check registered on the Update Service.

What Tradewind Can Offer You

  • Competitive Pay: Daily rates ranging between £98.89 and £120 (paid weekly, dependent on experience).

  • Career Development: Invaluable school-based experience ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, or Teachers, alongside free access to accredited CPD training courses.

  • Dedicated Support: A supportive and expert consultant working on your behalf to secure the best placements.

  • Referral Scheme: Excellent recommend-a-friend bonuses.
