About the Role

We are seeking an inspiring Motor Mechanics Tutor to join an education provider in the justice sector, delivering meaningful vocational learning within a prison education setting. This is a unique opportunity to support learners on their rehabilitation journey, helping them build the practical skills, confidence and qualifications needed to progress into employment and shape brighter futures.

You'll deliver engaging and inclusive motor mechanics lessons to small groups of learners with a wide range of educational backgrounds, learning needs and abilities. Many of your learners will have had difficult experiences of education, so patience, empathy and a genuine belief in each individual's potential will matter as much as your technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering motor mechanics sessions and qualifications to groups of learners.

• Assessing, reviewing and tracking learner progress.

• Maintaining accurate course and learner records.

• Embedding employability and workplace skills into the curriculum.

• Supporting learners to achieve and progress towards employment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• NVQ Level 3 qualification in motor vehicle maintenance, or equivalent, with industry experience

• An expert in your field with substantial vocational experience

• Ability to work effectively within a team

• Genuine passion for learner development

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching or assessing qualification

No teaching qualification? No problem. Full support and funding is available to help you work towards the required teaching and assessing qualifications.
