Payroll Analyst

Dynamite Recruitment is currently recruiting a Payroll Analyst to join an established business based in Christchurch on a 6-12 month fixed term contract. This is a great opportunity to join a busy finance and HR environment, supporting accurate and timely payroll delivery across multiple payrolls. The role will suit someone who enjoys working with payroll data, reconciliations and resolving discrepancies, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance and providing a high level of service to employees.

This position could go permanent for the successful candidate.

The Payroll Analyst Role:

• Support the end-to-end processing of multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are consistently met
• Prepare and validate payroll changes, checking data and investigating any discrepancies
• Complete payroll reconciliations, variance checks and payroll comparisons
• Work with external payroll providers to resolve queries and discrepancies
• Support calculations relating to PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and pensions
• Assist with benefits and pension administration
• Maintain accurate payroll records, processes and documentation
• Support payroll reporting, projects and process improvements

The Ideal Payroll Analyst Candidate:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll processes and statutory requirements
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, variance analysis and identifying discrepancies
• Good understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments
• Strong Excel skills, particularly Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and SUMIFS
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy
