Interim Finance Manager

Barnsley | 3-Month FTC | Immediate Start | 4 Days per Week | £44,000–£52,000 pro rata (£55,000–£65,000 FTE)

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with an SME based in Barnsley to recruit an Interim Finance Manager on an initial three-month fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced Finance Manager who can step into the business, take responsibility for the finance function and provide stability and support to a team of four while the business continues its search for a permanent appointment.

You'll take ownership of key financial activities, from cash flow forecasting and budgeting through to management accounts and audit, ensuring the team continues to operate effectively and deadlines are met.

The role:

• Lead and support a team of four, providing clear direction and stability during a period of transition.

• Take responsibility for cash flow forecasting and maintaining visibility of the business's cash position.

• Oversee budgeting and financial planning.

• Manage the production of monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

• Lead the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.

• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure reporting deadlines are achieved.

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations, identifying and addressing any immediate priorities.

• Work closely with key stakeholders to provide financial information and support business decision-making.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager role or a similar senior finance position.

• Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) accountant or QBE.

• Strong technical experience across management accounts, budgeting and cash flow forecasting.

• Experience leading or coordinating external audits.

• Previous experience managing a finance team.

• A hands-on approach, with the ability to quickly get up to speed and take ownership.

• Someone who can provide leadership, bring stability and make an immediate impact.
