About the Home

We are recruiting on behalf of an established care provider seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a medium-sized nursing care home in Dover, Kent.

The home currently holds a Good CQC rating and provides nursing care to residents in a supportive, person-centred environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Nursing Home Manager to take responsibility for a well-established service, maintaining high standards of care while continuing to develop the home's performance, reputation and quality of service.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operational performance of the nursing home, ensuring residents receive the highest standards of safe, effective and compassionate care.

You will provide strong leadership to the clinical and care teams, promoting a positive working culture while ensuring the home continues to meet regulatory requirements and deliver excellent outcomes for residents.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide effective leadership and operational management of a medium-sized nursing care home.

• Maintain and build upon the home's existing Good CQC rating, driving continuous improvements in care quality.

• Lead, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team of nursing, care and support staff.

• Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures and clinical governance requirements.

• Oversee recruitment, staff development, performance management and workforce planning.

• Manage budgets, staffing costs, occupancy levels and overall financial performance.

• Develop positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals and external stakeholders.

• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork and person-centred care.

• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, resident satisfaction and the overall quality of the service.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and commercially aware Registered Manager with a strong background in nursing home management and a proven ability to lead successful care services.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Nursing Home Manager within an elderly nursing care setting.

• A strong understanding of CQC regulations, clinical governance and safeguarding requirements.

• Proven experience managing a nursing care home.

• A successful track record of maintaining or improving CQC ratings and care standards.

• Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.

• Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, occupancy and staffing expenditure.

• The ability to build positive relationships with residents, families and multidisciplinary teams.

• A recognised management qualification, such as an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management, or equivalent.

A nursing qualification would be advantageous, although experienced non-nurse managers with a strong nursing home background are encouraged to apply.
