Are you a hands-on Service Engineer looking for a varied field-based role working with essential pumping systems?

Join a growing engineering business where your technical skills will make a real difference. You'll work on a wide range of water and sewage pumping station equipment, carrying out maintenance, fault-finding, repairs and installations across commercial, industrial and domestic sites throughout the UK.

If you're confident diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, enjoy working independently and take pride in delivering excellent customer service, this could be your next career move.

What's in it for you?

  • Varied field-based work - no two sites or working days need to be the same.
  • Technical variety - work across mechanical and electrical pumping systems, from planned maintenance to emergency breakdowns.
  • Training and development - access to company-funded training to build your technical knowledge and skills.
  • A role with responsibility - manage your work on site, solve problems and help keep critical pumping equipment operating reliably.
  • Long-term opportunity - join an ambitious business focused on quality, customer satisfaction and continued growth.

The Role

As a Service Engineer, you'll travel to customer sites across the UK to maintain, repair and install pumping station equipment, helping ensure systems remain safe, reliable and operational.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on water and sewage pumping stations.
  • Responding to reactive breakdowns, investigating faults and completing repairs.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Undertaking electrical installation, servicing and remedial works.
  • Responding to critical alarms through a telemetry monitoring system as part of an on-call rota.
  • Supporting installation engineers with equipment installations when required.
  • Completing accurate service reports and maintaining records using company IT systems.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety, workmanship and customer service.

You'll play an important role in keeping essential pumping infrastructure running smoothly while helping the business maintain its reputation for reliable, high-quality engineering services.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a technically capable, practical engineer who enjoys troubleshooting equipment and getting problems resolved.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience servicing, maintaining or repairing pumping systems or similar mechanical equipment.
  • A good understanding of mechanical and electrical fault-finding.
  • The ability to work independently, manage your workload and meet customer deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate service records.
  • A proactive attitude, with a willingness to support colleagues and take on additional responsibilities.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.

Experience with water or sewage pumping stations would be particularly relevant, although engineers with transferable experience in pumps, motors, pipework, water systems or similar equipment may also be well suited.

Ready for Your Next Engineering Opportunity?

If you're a hands-on engineer who enjoys field-based work, solving technical problems and working with a variety of pumping systems, we'd like to hear from you.
