Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the registration process alongside the Directors.
  • Recruiting, supporting and developing a dedicated residential care team.
  • Establishing a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted requirements, safeguarding legislation and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Developing effective policies, procedures and recording systems.
  • Overseeing individual care plans, risk assessments and placement planning.
  • Building strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, families and external professionals.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality assurance and inspection readiness.
  • Promoting positive outcomes, emotional wellbeing and personal development for young people.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary reflecting experience and qualifications.
  • Opportunity to lead a brand-new children's residential home.
  • Genuine involvement in shaping the service from the beginning.
  • Direct support from the Directors and external professionals throughout registration.
  • Opportunity to recruit and develop your own staff team.
  • Career progression potential as the organisation grows.
  • A rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference to young people's lives.

Key Requirements

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Previous management experience within children's residential care, either as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted requirements and the Children's Homes Quality Standards.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or a relevant equivalent, desirable.
  • Previous experience supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • The confidence to establish and develop a new residential service.
  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality, child-centred care.
