We are currently looking for a Project Engineering Lead to join a growing engineering team in Rugeley. This is an opportunity to combine technical leadership with project coordination, working across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure solutions are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.

The Role

As Project Engineering Lead, you will take ownership of the engineering delivery within assigned projects, acting as the link between technical teams, project management, customers and suppliers.

You will provide technical direction, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and ensure deliverables are completed on time, within scope and budget, and in line with relevant quality, safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing technical leadership across engineering projects, guiding engineers and specialists to deliver effective solutions.
• Reviewing engineering designs, specifications and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Coordinating activities across mechanical, electrical, software and systems engineering disciplines.
• Planning engineering workloads, estimating resource requirements and monitoring progress against project schedules and budgets.
• Identifying and managing technical risks, resolving engineering issues and assessing the impact of project changes.
• Acting as a key technical point of contact for customers, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Supporting project reviews, technical approvals, quality assurance and engineering governance.
• Mentoring and developing engineers, delegating technical activities and promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

About You

You will be an established engineering professional with the technical credibility and leadership skills to coordinate complex engineering activities in a demanding project environment.

What You will bring:

• A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical engineering experience.
• Experience providing technical leadership within a project-based engineering environment.
• A broad understanding of engineering principles and multidisciplinary systems.
• Experience with design reviews, technical risk management and engineering problem-solving.
• An understanding of project planning, resource allocation, scheduling, cost control and change management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across engineering and programme teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers, coordinating technical work and maintaining high engineering standards.
