Junior Lab Technician
About this role
Are you interested in science and keen to build a career in inks and coatings? Pulse Roll Label Products, a global leader in narrow web label printing solutions, is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Lab Technician to support our laboratory team.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, lab-based role supporting the development and testing of UV-curable inks and coatings for labels and packaging. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll help prepare samples, carry out tests and record results, while developing your practical laboratory skills and technical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and label raw materials, ink and coating samples for laboratory testing.
- Carry out routine tests and assist with experiments, following agreed methods and instructions.
- Accurately record results and report findings to the technical team.
- Support investigations into product performance and technical enquiries.
- Keep laboratory equipment and work areas clean, organised and ready for use.
- Follow laboratory health and safety procedures and maintain accurate records.
What We're Looking For
- An interest in science and enthusiasm to learn about inks, coatings and printing processes.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- A practical, methodical approach to tasks and an interest in problem-solving.
- Good organisation, basic computer skills and clear communication.
- A reliable approach to work and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable but Not Essential
- A science qualification, particularly in chemistry or a related subject.
- Some practical laboratory experience gained through education or employment.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment, testing or safe chemical handling.
No formal qualifications are required for this role. While a science background or laboratory experience would be beneficial, we are equally interested in candidates who are enthusiastic, reliable and eager to learn.
You do not need a degree, scientific qualification or previous experience in ink formulation to apply. Full training will be provided. If you enjoy practical, hands-on work, take pride in working accurately and have a keen interest in learning new skills, we'd love to hear from you.
