MET Technician

We are seeking an experienced and qualified MET Technician to join our busy Billingham branch. This MET Technician position offers the opportunity to work for a market-leading commercial vehicle specialist with a strong reputation and over 50 years of successful trading.

Duties of the MET Technician:

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across commercial vehicles.
• Installing, maintaining and repairing vehicle wiring systems and electrical components.
• Working on lighting systems, indicators and electrical braking systems.
• Servicing and repairing starters, alternators and battery systems.
• Diagnosing and repairing ECU faults.
• Installing and configuring telematics, tracking devices and cameras.
• Maintaining and repairing air conditioning electrical systems.
• Using diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve faults.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections.
• Working from wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Maintaining accurate records of repairs and parts used.
• Ensuring all work complies with health, safety and vehicle standards.

Requirements:

• A Level 2 qualification or equivalent, such as NVQ or City & Guilds.
• Significant experience installing electrical equipment to vehicles.
• A practical, problem-solving approach and a positive can-do attitude.
• The ability to work efficiently within a busy commercial vehicle environment.
• A full UK driving licence.
