Location: Winchester
Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist to join a growing, multidisciplinary environmental consultancy specialising in ecology, arboriculture and landscape design. With an established team and ambitious expansion plans, this is an excellent opportunity to help develop a new ecology service in Winchester.

As Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in building client relationships and delivering high-quality ecological advice across a varied project portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare technical reports, including PEAs, EcIAs, mitigation strategies and protected species licence applications.
• Manage projects, budgets, survey programmes and junior ecologists.
• Liaise with clients, planning authorities and statutory consultees.
• Support business development, bids and client relationship management.
• Collaborate with landscape architects and arboricultural specialists.

Requirements:

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Full CIEEM membership or working towards it.
• Significant UK ecological consultancy experience.
• Knowledge of wildlife legislation, planning policy and BNG.
• Relevant protected species survey licences.
• Strong technical report-writing and project management skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for surveys.
• Full right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
• Currently living within commuting distance of the Winchester office.
