Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Rockwell PLC Software Engineer to join a specialist systems integrator supporting a major automation project within the food & beverage sector.

The successful Rockwell PLC Software Engineer will be responsible for PLC software development on an 18-month project, with an initial 12-month contract and the likelihood of an extension.

The position offers hybrid working, with approximately two days per week in the Peterborough office and three days working from home. There may be scope to reduce office attendance once established within the project team.

Key aspects of the Rockwell PLC Software Engineer contract include:

• Strong Rockwell Studio 5000 PLC programming experience is essential
• Proven experience delivering PLC software across the full project lifecycle
• Experience with Rockwell PlantPAx and FactoryTalk Batch would be advantageous but isn't essential
• Food & beverage industry experience would be beneficial, although candidates from other automation sectors will be considered
• Working alongside an established team of software and automation engineers
• Focused on PLC software design, development and testing
• No site commissioning required – a separate commissioning team is in place
• £45 per hour, outside IR35
• Initial 12-month contract, with a likely extension
• Hybrid working – approximately 2 days in Peterborough and 3 days from home

The client is looking for a technically strong Rockwell PLC Software Engineer who can work independently, produce high-quality PLC software and contribute to the successful delivery of a substantial automation project.

This opportunity would suit a contractor with a strong systems integration background who enjoys software development and is looking for a long-term assignment without the requirement for regular site travel or commissioning.
