The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical building services background, excellent project management capabilities and the commercial awareness to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.

The Role:

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take ownership of mechanical projects, coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure successful delivery. You will be responsible for programme management, financial control, quality assurance and health and safety throughout the project lifecycle.

•Oversee mechanical installations, upgrades, refurbishments and associated building services works.
•Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, forecasts and resource plans.
•Coordinate engineers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.
•Monitor progress against agreed timescales and budgets, addressing issues and mitigating risks.
•Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, industry standards and client requirements.
•Manage procurement, materials, subcontractor performance and project variations.
•Maintain effective client relationships, providing regular updates on progress, costs and programme.
•Oversee quality control, inspections, testing, commissioning and snagging.
•Ensure project documentation, risk assessments, method statements and handover records are completed accurately.
•Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, manage costs and enhance project performance.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience managing mechanical building services projects and the ability to take ownership of multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of delivery.

You will be an organised, commercially aware and solutions-focused professional who can build strong relationships with clients and project teams alike.

Essential requirements:

•Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager or in a similar mechanical building services role.
•Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, heating, ventilation, plumbing and pipework.
•Experience managing project budgets, programmes, resources and subcontractors.
•A good understanding of health and safety requirements within construction or facilities management.
•Strong commercial awareness, including cost control and variation management.
•Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
•The ability to manage competing deadlines and resolve issues effectively.
•A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South and South East.

Desirable:

•A relevant mechanical engineering or building services qualification.
•SMSTS or an equivalent site management safety qualification.
•Experience working in live, occupied or operational buildings.
•Experience within facilities management, healthcare, education, defence or other complex environments.
•Knowledge of commissioning procedures and mechanical systems handover requirements.

•Permanent position with a salary of £55,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
•The opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of mechanical projects across the South and South East.
•A role with responsibility and autonomy across the full project lifecycle.
•The opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals within a well-established facilities management operation.
