Are you an experienced Finance Manager ready to take ownership of a broad finance function within a growing business?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a private equity-backed business operating in the flexible workspace and commercial property sector. With investment supporting its continued expansion, the business is looking for a capable, commercially minded Finance Manager to strengthen its financial operations and help support its next stage of growth.

Working closely with the Managing Director, you will oversee the day-to-day finance function, lead a small team and play a key role in financial reporting, cash flow management and commercial decision-making.

Ideal for a Finance Manager who enjoys being hands-on but wants the responsibility, visibility and influence that come with working closely with senior leadership.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, effective financial controls and strong cash management.

Leading an existing two-person finance team, you will remain actively involved in the detail while identifying ways to improve processes, strengthen financial performance and support business growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Coordinating budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and financial performance reviews.
• Preparing cash flow forecasts and monitoring working capital.
• Taking an active role in invoicing, credit control, debt collection and debtor management.
• Managing year-end accounts preparation and liaising with external accountants.
• Overseeing VAT returns, HMRC correspondence and financial compliance.
• Monitoring supplier payments, operating costs and cash utilisation.
• Providing financial analysis to support commercial decisions and business planning.
• Supporting property performance reviews, acquisitions and expansion opportunities.
• Assisting with reporting to private equity investors and external stakeholders.
• Leading and supporting the existing finance team of two.
• Improving finance processes, systems and reporting to ensure the function can scale with the business.

About You

You will be a practical, organised and commercially aware finance professional who is comfortable taking responsibility and working in a lean team.

You will ideally have:

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.

Experience as a Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant or in a similar hands-on finance role within an SME or growing business.

Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting skills.

Practical experience of cash flow forecasting, credit control and working capital management.

Experience with VAT returns, HMRC matters and year-end accounts.

The ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate financial records.

Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting junior finance colleagues.

Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior management and external advisers.

A proactive mindset and the ability to identify improvements rather than simply maintain existing processes.

Experience in property, real estate or flexible workspace would be beneficial but is not essential.
