HGV Technician

We are recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to join our established commercial vehicle dealership in Shrewsbury. This HGV Technician position offers a flexible salary dependent on experience, an average 39-hour working week and alternating early and late shifts. Duties:

• As an HGV Technician, service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and technical faults using diagnostic equipment
• Carry out vehicle inspections and identify defects
• Complete repairs in line with manufacturer specifications and company standards
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and complete remedial work
• Accurately complete job cards, inspection sheets and relevant paperwork
• Identify and report additional repair requirements
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe workshop environment
• Work effectively with the wider workshop team
• Follow health and safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician
• Strong knowledge of HGV servicing, maintenance and repair
• Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, organised and safety-conscious approach
• Full UK driving licence advantageous; relevant HGV licence entitlements are also beneficial
