About this role

Would you rather lead the electrical design on buildings that set records, or keep drawing someone else's?

This is an award-winning M&E design consultancy known for Passivhaus Premium, BREEAM Outstanding and Net Zero Carbon work, and it's growing its electrical team.

If you're an experienced Senior Engineer, you'd lead the discipline, own project delivery from concept to completion and help shape where the team goes next.

Earlier in your career?

We're hiring for several opportunities in firms across NI and ROI at graduate and engineer level too.

Is this you?

You're a Senior Engineer or above in a building services consultancy, and you want technical leadership with real ownership, not a bigger pile of drawings.

You can run a project through multiple RIBA stages, review and approve the calculations, and keep architects, mechanical and structural teams pulling in the same direction.

You like mentoring engineers and graduates, and you'd happily help win the next piece of work.

Not at Senior level yet?

If you're a graduate or a developing engineer who wants to work on low-carbon projects with paid training and a clear route to Chartership, keep reading too.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing technical and discipline leadership across electrical projects
  • Leading electrical design and delivery from concept through to completion
  • Owning technical performance, quality, programme and budget on your projects
  • Coordinating design with mechanical, architectural and structural teams, and solving problems hands-on
  • Reviewing and approving calculations, drawings and specifications
  • Mentoring engineers and graduates, and supporting resource planning
  • Contributing to fee proposals, client relationships and new project opportunities

Where you'll be doing it

A building services consultancy founded on an ethos that ensures clients keep coming back ... quite simply repeat business and client recommendations are key.

It's best known for high-performance, low-carbon buildings across education, student accommodation and public sector projects.

The business has won recognition as an employer, including multiple awards for work environment and encouraging career / professional development.

Join a fun, flexible, team-focused environment.

What you'll need

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
  • For Senior and Associate level: Chartered status, or working towards it within 12 months
  • Significant consultancy experience in electrical building services design, at Senior Engineer level or above
  • Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and British and European Standards
  • Revit and BIM experience, plus DIALux and Amtech/Trimble ProDesign
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and Ireland

BREEAM, Passivhaus or Net Zero Carbon experience is a bonus, not a requirement. If you have the core design experience, don't rule yourself out.

What you'll get

  • Flexitime, 2 days a week working from home, and a 1pm finish on Fridays
  • 34 days' holiday
  • Paid training and career development, built around your goals
  • Healthcare benefits and a competitive employer pension
  • Fully funded sports, social and wellbeing events
  • Free on-site parking
