PPM Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join a professional catering operation in Royston.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and skilled chef looking for a permanent position, supporting the Head Chef, leading the kitchen team and helping to deliver high-quality food and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.

• Lead, motivate and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

• Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals to a consistently high standard.

• Assist with menu planning, food preparation and stock control.

• Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation.

• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety regulations.

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.

• Manage food storage, rotation and wastage in line with company procedures.

• Support and train junior chefs and other kitchen team members.

• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef, Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role.

• Strong leadership and organisational skills.

• Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen.

• A passion for delivering high-quality food and excellent service.

• A flexible, hands-on approach to kitchen operations.
