Senior Structural Technician | Derby

A well-established and growing structural engineering design consultancy is seeking a Senior Structural Technician to join its Derby office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician looking to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the residential, commercial, industrial, education and mixed-use sectors. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality structural drawings and models, working closely with engineers, architects and contractors from concept through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural drawings, plans and construction details
• Develop and coordinate 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and Revit
• Work closely with Structural Engineers to deliver design solutions
• Prepare reinforced concrete, steelwork, timber and masonry detailing
• Attend design and coordination meetings where required
• Ensure drawings are delivered accurately and within project timescales
• Support junior technicians and share technical knowledge
• Liaise with architects, contractors and external consultants

Requirements

• Experience working as a Structural Technician within a consultancy environment
• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Revit experience is highly desirable
• Experience producing structural drawings for building structures projects
• Good understanding of steel, concrete, timber and masonry construction
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
