Job Overview

We are seeking a versatile and proactive Multi-Skilled Service & Maintenance Engineer to join our team based in Huntingdon. This dual-faceted role offers a dynamic mix of workshop-based assembly and field-based service operations. When you are not travelling to client sites to commission, service, or repair our custom-built machinery and automated systems, you will be based on site in Huntingdon vital electrical and mechanical assembly tasks.

We welcome applications from engineers at various stages of their careers; any suitable, relevant experience will be strongly considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Service & Maintenance: Travel to customer sites to perform routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and diagnostics on bespoke machinery and automated systems.
  • Workshop Assembly: Build, wire, and mechanically assemble custom machinery and sub-assemblies at our facility when not deployed on-site.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rectify complex electrical and mechanical faults efficiently to minimize client downtime.
  • Customer Relations: Act as a professional technical representative of the company while on-site, providing clear updates and excellent service to clients.
  • Documentation: Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and commissioning checklists accurately.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Multi-Skilled Background: Proven hands-on experience in both mechanical fitting and electrical troubleshooting/assembly.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working on bespoke, custom-built machinery rather than just standard, repetitive production lines.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel to various site locations as required (a valid UK driving license is essential).

Desirable (Plus) Factors

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Basic understanding or experience with PLC programming/fault-finding.
  • Prior experience working with robotic or automated systems.
