Job Description: Vivd are currently working with a Local Authority in the South East that is looking for a Housing Officer for a minimum period of 6 months with a view to extend.

As Housing Officer you will play a vital role in supporting our clients vision of creating homes and places where people want to live. As a Housing Officer you will manage allocations, lettings, sign ups and vacant properties.
Ideally you will have some experience of working within a housing management environment, with working knowledge and awareness of current housing issues and legislation.
Duties as a Housing Officer are varied and include managing empty properties, visiting properties to complete pre-terminations, sign ups, inspections and viewings as well as applying rechargeable costs for damage or poor tenancy conditions. You will operate within the clients allocations Policy and procedure to successfully match customer with suitable and available housing. You will provide a knowledgeable and friendly service to provide information for outside agencies and customers on the Home Link Scheme.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills to build successful working relationships with agencies, partners and customers via the telephone, by email and face to face. You will have an understanding of the needs of the vulnerable and diverse community support displaying excellent interpersonal skills to adapt your approach in order to communicate at all levels. You will be enthusiastic about contributing positively to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
In addition, you will understand and actively promote our Mission, Vision and values in everything you do. You will have the ability to follow procedure within your job role including the equality and diversity policy, Financial Regulations and Health and safety standards.
We are looking for someone who can work under pressure, can work with wide range of people with complex needs, people who can prioritise their workload and work towards stringent . We are looking for an individual with prior experience in lettings property, social housing, private landlords, meter readings or have experience in rent. Someone who can work towards their own initiative. We are looking for someone with their own car and driving license. A positive attitude along with our training and supportive colleagues will equip you with all of the tools and knowledge you'll need to succeed.
